Behind the Poem: BREATH OF THE BROKEN

The poem, BREATH OF THE BROKEN, (Beauty for Ashes, pg 21) was written in February of 2001.  I had lost a friend to a terminal illness 11 months prior, and it took me a long time to get through the process of grieving, as it was only the second time in my life I'd experienced the death of someone close to me.
