As you already know, my manuscript was accepted for publication and I am so excited! Now, it has only been a week, and already, it is in the design department. Of course that means the hardest part is here: waiting. I’ve been telling the family lately that my book is like a child and it will be here in nine months! So, April 28th is the big day! Also, fun, because it happens to be a friend’s birthday!

Since being accepted, I have written my acknowledgements, which, for real, made me cry when I was less than half done with them! Crazy! But I got through them. I did the dedication, too. I also told my grandma that I dreamed about my great-grandma (who passed away in early 2004) on the morning that I ended up finding out I was being published. I dreamed she was sitting on the edge of my bed, but I knew she was leaving soon and I asked “Are you coming back?” and she said, “Yes, I’m coming back.” I said I thought it was neat that I dreamed of her on the same day I found out such big news, and Grandma said, “Well, she always did like to be involved…” So funny! And true! The next step in publishing was filling out the author questionnaire, and submitting a bunch of things, including an author photo, photo suggestions for the front and back cover and a permission form that Tara sweetly signed, saying that I could use her photographs for my book.
